Peers set to sign off huge hikes to their tax-free allowances meaning they can get the equivalent of £100,000 a year - with £100 a night for hotels added to £360 daily payout

The tax-free daily allowance in the House of Lords is due to rise from £342 to £360 next month in line with the 5.5 per cent increase in MPs' salaries.
